Sturt Young Learners

Early Learning Centre Near Sheidow Park

Welcome to Sturt Young Learners — a place where your child’s wonder, joy, and potential are at the heart of everything we do.

Just minutes from Sheidow Park, our early learning centre provides a warm, nurturing environment where little learners feel safe, supported, and excited to grow.

Here, curiosity is sparked, creativity is cherished, and families are welcomed as true partners in their child’s journey.

Because with decades of trusted experience, we know every child deserves a beautiful beginning.

Why Families Choose Us

At Sturt Young Learners, we’re more than an early learning centre — we’re a community that walks alongside families as their children grow. We take the time to understand each child, nurturing their interests, strengths, and natural sense of wonder.

Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and thoughtfully blend the most meaningful elements of Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and Steiner philosophies. This rich, play-based approach encourages children to explore confidently, develop independence, and discover the joy of learning in their own unique way.

Because every child’s journey is special — and we’re here to support it wholeheartedly

What We Offer

Purpose-Built, Nature-Inspired Spaces

Our centre is thoughtfully designed to spark imagination, curiosity and delight. With leafy gardens, natural outdoor play areas and creative indoor learning spaces, children have the freedom to explore, discover and learn through meaningful, play-based experiences.

Groups and Programs

We provide nurturing, developmentally tailored programs for every stage of early childhood:

Nursery (6 weeks to 2 years plus): A calm, comforting environment where strong bonds are built and routines gently follow each baby’s individual needs.

Young Kindy (2 to 3 years): A playful, secure space where toddlers grow in confidence, develop social skills and enjoy plenty of hands-on, messy fun

Older Kindy (3 to 4 years): A stimulating, engaging environment designed to support emotional growth, problem-solving and emerging independence.

Preschool (4 to 5 years): A rich, school-readiness program led by qualified teachers, focusing on literacy, numeracy, curiosity and resilience.

Universal Access Preschool: A government-supported program for children in the year before school — included in your enrolment at no extra cost.

Because every age and stage deserves the right blend of care, guidance and joyful learning

Learning About Sustainability

At Sturt Young Learners, caring for our earth is part of everyday fun. Children enjoy hands-on experiences like recycling, composting, saving water and tending to our thriving garden beds — learning, little by little, how their actions help protect the world around them.

Fresh, Balanced Meals Every Day

Our centre chef prepares a rotating menu of wholesome, seasonal meals bursting with colour, flavour and variety. Guided by Nutrition Australia recommendations, we ensure children receive around half of their daily nutritional needs while in our care.

We happily cater to dietary needs, allergies and family preferences. From vibrant pastas to nourishing stir-fries and hearty wholegrain favourites, every meal supports healthy growth — and helps children discover a lifelong love of good food.

Experienced, Passionate Educators

Led by Jenny and Carmel — two dedicated, qualified teachers with more than 30 years of steady leadership — Sturt Young Learners is proudly independent.

Our long-standing team brings heart, expertise and a dash of quirk to every room, offering smaller group sizes and genuine one-on-one attention. . It’s the kind of place where educators know each child’s story — and help them write their next chapter with confidence and joy.

Here, children are nurtured just like family — because at Sturt Young Learners, we’re different… we’re family!

Strong Partnerships With Families

We believe early learning works best when families are involved. Parents receive regular updates, interviews and insights into their child’s learning. Photos and occasional video clips help you stay connected with your child’s day.

Families are always welcome to join in, and we aim to surround every child with a small family environment every day.

We follow an open-door policy and value your feedback, questions and ideas.

Whether it’s a quick chat or a formal conversation, we’re here to listen and support you

Fees and Child Care Subsidy

At Sturt Young Learners, our fees are clear, competitive, and listed on the Australian Government’s Starting Blocks website.

Being independently owned means more of our resources go straight into enriching our programs and services — not a corporate chain.

Families eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) can reduce their fees, and our team is happy to guide you through the application process and explain how the subsidy works for your family.

Quality early learning that’s both affordable and focused on your child’s growth
